About us
Twelve years in cloth. Fabric shipped to 32 countries, and garments sewn in our own production.
Since 2014
Luméa Label is the own-label arm of Pratham Art, a Surat fabric exporter working in cloth since 2014.
For twelve years we have specified, developed and exported fabric to garment makers across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Central Asia. Luméa exists because we reached the point where we wanted to see that cloth finished properly — cut to our own patterns, sewn in our own production — instead of handing the roll over and hoping.
From fabric to a finished piece, under one roof.
What we work in
The full range a modern abaya, kaftan or dress asks for.
Base cloth — pure cotton, dyed and printed · polyester-cotton and polyester-cotton blends, dyed and printed · chiffon · satin
Woven and worked — jacquard · satin jacquard · embroidered fabric · Schiffli work · viscose brasso
Surface and finish — stone work · the full range of value additions · fully customised development to a buyer's own specification
If a construction is not on that list, it is usually because nobody has asked us for it yet.
Where it goes
Our fabric ships to 32 countries — not markets we hope to enter, markets we already supply, season after season.
- West and Central Africa — Nigeria, Senegal, Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia, Togo, Benin, Mauritania, Democratic Republic of the Congo
- East Africa and the Horn — Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, Djibouti
- North Africa — Morocco, Algeria
- Middle East — United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman
- Europe — France, United Kingdom, Russia
- Caucasus and Central Asia — Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan
- Southeast Asia and the Americas — Thailand, Myanmar, United States
Twelve years of export paperwork, freight forwarders and customs across three continents means the part most new labels find hardest — getting a parcel from Gujarat to Dakar or Doha without drama — is the part we have already done thousands of times.
How a Luméa piece is made
Two things sit behind every garment, and most labels have neither.
The cloth is specified, not shopped for. We work with mill partners we have known for a decade, and we develop the construction, the print and the finish to our own specification. Nobody hands us a swatch book.
The garment is made in our own production. Cut, sewn, pressed and checked under our own roof, by people we employ — not jobbed out to whoever had capacity that week. It is why the measurements published on every product page are taken off the garment rather than copied from a size chart, and why a length or a sleeve that is not listed is a conversation rather than a refusal.
The group
Luméa Label sits alongside two sister firms under Pratham Art: Design House, where prints and constructions are developed, and Pratham Art Exports, our export arm. One group, three jobs — design, production, and getting it to you.
Buying in volume
Boutiques, wholesalers and garment manufacturers are welcome to come to us direct, in any construction listed above. Much of our range is held ready to ship. Tell us the fabric, the quality and the quantity, and we will come back with a rate.
